START MAKING A READER TODAY (SMART) OREGON

Content strategy for a statewide reading readiness program’s “Read Together, Succeed Together” campaign

When SMART needed help defining content strategy for their three-year outreach campaign, they turned to Conveyor. SMART engages community volunteers across Oregon to read one-on-one with Pre-K through third-grade children for one hour per week during the school year. The organization also gives students 14 books to take home each year.

The longstanding nonprofit needed help sharing key messages of their “Read Together, Succeed Together” campaign. The campaign needed to reach audiences including families, educators, policy makers, donors and volunteers.

Conveyor conducted discovery interviews to define key messaging, then created strategy and content recommendations around the themes of equity, community, volunteers and literary success. We also developed social and email content, templates and graphics. These were used to amplify the campaign’s message and goal of providing critical reading support and books to Oregon children.
