Ste. Michelle Wine Estates is one of the largest wine distributors in North America, comprising more than 20 brands, including Columbia Crest, 14 Hands, Stag’s Leap and the original Chateau Ste. Michelle. So when they hired our friends at Daylight to reinvent the way they present online wine training, we were excited to roll up our sleeves and get to work.

With each course, we started by studying the brand’s history, its significance and its aspirations. We pored over wine books, historical documents and tasting notes to edit the most important material into each course and chapter. 

While the team at Daylight focused on the user experience, test functionality and course structure, we worked to craft the most compelling content, curating the best maps and photos — even recording spoken audio clips from the winemakers’ notes to help the course come alive.

Wine Education

The SMWE wine education group has now launched four of our courses to its customers, distributors, employees and partners — making some “required reading” and others free to the public. They have become the new model for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates online education, and we continue to develop content for these brands. See the SMWE Waitstaff Wine Pro site.
